West Bloomfield entered the season with high expectations and those expectations have remained perfectly in reach for the Lakers through 7 weeks.

West Bloomfield lost their first 2 games on the last play of the game, but have since rebounded impressively - winning 5 straight. The Lakers won't have much time to celebrate their 5 straight wins as they'll face a Southfield A&T opponent who is 2-4 and will not make the playoffs with a loss to the Lakers.

On Friday night vs. Troy Athens, West Bloomfield scored in the first quarter with a pass from Bowling Green State commit Bryce Veasley to Wisconsin commit AJ Abbott on a nice fade. Freshman 2021 ATH Donovan Edwards has arose as a reliable player for the Lakers and added a 4 yard touchdown run. Bryce Veasley also found 2019 WR Tre Mosley for a 73 yard touchdown catch and run plus had some fun himself with a 10 yard QB keeper touchdown. Howard commit Collin Heard also added a short range touchdown run for WB.

West Bloomfield was able to get a pick-six by 2018 DB Chase Swoope and 2018 S Nick Seidel continued to be one of the best Safeties in the state with 7 tackles.
