DeWitt's D3 State Title defense started off with a dominating win 47-27 over Traverse City Central and the score was probably not as close as it looks.

We'll break down top performances below:

DeWitt:

2022 QB Ty Holtz - The Brown commit was unreal as usual throwing for 6 touchdown passes and running to pick up some gritty yardage. Played some safety too. #1 senior QB in Michigan.

2022 WR/S Tommy McIntosh - The Wisconsin commit made some great catches and was open downfield and underneath. Not a ton of plays got to him at Safety and with his length, I don't blame TCC for trying much downfield.

2022 CB/WR Nick Flegler - To say the Air Force commit is undervalued is an understatement. He is always making plays and had a very strong solo tackle on ND commit, Josh Burnham, and a touchdown catch & run.

2022 RB/OLB Bryce Debri - Tough and physical player who is 5'11 185 lbs but is so valuable to the Panthers. Made some tackles around the line of scrimmage and sidelines. A physical runner who broke out a long gain for a TD.

2023 WR Bryce Kurncz - Broke out last week with a 4 TD game and looked good running. He's a former JV QB and was a starter as a freshman for the hoops team.

2022 OG Tyler Nordmann - Trimmed down from 340 to 315 this off-season and looked good blocking up front. DeWitt enjoyed running behind him.

2022 DT Jaden Hall - Was a constant force upfront for the Panthers. He often would blow up a play or clear the gap for a LB to come in.

2022 CB/WR Trent Brandell - Added a touchdown, but had some good coverage and tackles in space.

2023 WR/DB Blake Haller - Was a really nice standout for DeWitt too with good tackles and coverage.

Traverse City Central:

2022 MLB/QB Josh Burnham - The Notre Dame commit was gritty and constantly made things happen for the Trojans. Burnham sheds his blocks so well around the line of scrimmage and was seemingly in around every play besides when dropping in coverage (Which he did well in). Rushed for 2 TD's and passed for 1.

2022 WR/DB Carson Bourdo - Is a tremendous athlete who excelled in all 3 phases of the game, had a top notch kickoff returned for a touchdown.

2022 OT Keegan Opper - Held down the LT position and did well in run and block. He holds 10 offers.

2022 WR/DB Dante Williams - Was the Trojans biggest offensive threat as he caught a nice fade and did get open a few other times but wasn't able to get the ball his way. Also had a good game at CB.

2022 OLB Conrad Dobreff - Was another interesting LB for TCC. Had a big game getting to the ball and fighting off blocks.

2022 DE/OT Kadyn Warner - High-motored player who was involved in several tackles around the line of scrimmage and did well blocking at RT as well.
