In the #11 Michigan Wolverines win over #17 Florida Gators former Rockford graduate Quinn Nordin kicked 4 field goals. Nordin drilled a 55-yard and 50-yard field goal during the game which made him the only kicker in Michigan's history to kick two field goals from over 50+ yards in the same game.

Nordin found himself in one of the Jim Harbaugh's biggest publicity stunts when he was committed to Penn State, Harbaugh had a sleepover at Nordin's house just past midnight when the NCAA rules allowed for coaches to visit recruits.

Other key Michigan graduates performances include
  • Farmington - Dave Reese of Florida led the Gators with 11 tackles and 1 tackle for loss
  • Detroit King - Ambry Thomas who had forced fumble and recovery
  • Southfield - Lawrence Marshall recovered a fumble
