Team Holder 17U is a good local story
This summer AAU has taken a different landscape in Michigan with local teams having to travel to Indiana or Ohio for most weekends. Some teams have opted to sit out this summer with the ongoing pandemic and there is no fault in that. Warren De La Salle 2021 PG Linden Holder usually runs with the Michigan Goonies, but that organization decided to sit this summer out. This summer is his last chance to showcase his talent to college coaches so he and his father Ron created “Team Holder.” They find players who want to run and then head down to tournaments and play ball. They aren’t just grabbing average joe’s either, some solid players have suited up for Team Holder. This past weekend they had Grand Blanc 2021 G Nate Brown who holds an offer from Northwood, Carman Ainsworth 2022 F Isaiah Jones who is a beast inside, and Lake Shore’s Nick Olmeda who was named MAC-Blue MVP this past season. The team also featured Linden’s school ball teammates Nick Trosak and Triston Nichols. Trosak is a fantastic role player and Nichols is a talented 2023 underclassman. In our current circumstances it is nice to see Linden and his father turn a bad situation into a good one and enjoy their last ride of AAU basketball.
