Division 2 State Championship Overview: De La Salle enters the Division 2 title game fresh off of beating the #1 ranked Detroit King Crusaders. Franklin had their own huge upset in the opening round as they beat #7 Walled Lake Western on the road. De La Salle has been one of the hottest teams in the state after an odd week 1 shutout loss to Lowell.

State Finals history:

De La Salle will be appearing in their 4th Division 2 title as they won it all in 2014 and were the runner-ups in 2006 and 2008.

Livonia Franklin will incredibly be making their first state finals appearance since they won the inaugural Class A state championship in 1975.

Last weeks predictions: 1-1 (12-6 Overall in Division 2)

Breakdown: After a crazy Division 2 with upset after upset, no one saw this meeting between Franklin and De La Salle happening. The Pilots will bring a high-powered offense led by Senior QB Luke Pfromm who 5 weeks ago tore up Catholic Central's defense in the Prep Bowl at Ford Field. Franklin has a made a name for their self this year with a great defense and a 1-2 RB punch of Isaac Moore and Julius Simmons.

Prediction: De La Salle 35-20

Explanation: De La Salle is clicking on all cylinders and is the better team in mostly every category. The Pilots had near double-digit transfers from Dakota where Giannone previously coached who were familiar with everything he does and Dakota was a contender in D1 so piece that together with players like Pfromm and Brendan Madigan and you have yourself a Division 2 State Champion.
