Cranbrook grad Chris Smith (Notre Dame DL) has signed as a UDFA with the Detroit Lions.

8/23/2017: The Cranes have had several nice seasons in a row. Heavily involved in the success of the defense is DE/LB combo, Chris Smith. Smith will develop into a DE/DT prospect depending on how coaches see fit as he's explosive and strong.

College interest: A lot of schools loved his abilities, and will probably switch positions from DE to DT in college. At 6'2" 253 Smith attracted offers from Lehigh, Cornell, Columbia, Yale before he committed to Harvard which was his latest offer.
